Strawberry Seeds aren’t sold at the General Store and don’t show up at the Traveling Cart. There are only two possible ways to get Strawberry Seeds, and both of them are time limited. Strawberries take eight days to mature and then will reproduce every four days, with each plant producing one or more Strawberries.

Strawberry Seeds can be purchased at the following occasions:

  • Egg Festival (Spring 13)
    • Seeds can be purchased from Pierre’s shop at the festival for 100 Gold each
  • Desert Festival (Spring 15, 16, 17)
    • Seeds can be bought on the first and third days of the Desert Festival (Spring 15 and 17), costing 5 Calico Eggs each on Spring 15 and 6 Calico Eggs each on Spring 17.
    • If Maru has a stall at the festival, she also sells 20 Strawberry Seeds for 10 Calico Eggs

The best way to get Strawberry Seeds is through the Egg Festival, but you’re never going to make bumper profits during the first year. You’re better off holding on to all the Strawberries that you manage to grow during the first year, putting them into storage, and using them to boost your Spring crops the next year using a Seed Maker.

There are a couple of options to get a Seed Maker fairly early in Stardew Valley. The recipe for a Seed Maker unlocks at farming level 9, so make sure to keep tending your crops religiously to get the recipe. Otherwise, you’ll also be rewarded with a Seed Maker when you complete the Dye Bundle on the Bulletin Board in the Community Center. You can also occasionally find a Seed Maker in treasure rooms of Skull Cavern.

Once you’ve got a Seedmaker, you can start using it to get more Strawberry Seeds. To get Strawberry Seeds, simply put a grown Strawberry into the Seed Maker.

Each Strawberry put into the Seed Maker will produce between one and three Strawberry Seeds, with a 97.5% chance of getting two seeds. These seeds can then be saved until the following Spring, giving you a large number of seeds and boosting your year 2 spring profits.

If you’re looking for a killer gift for Demetrius or Maru, then Strawberry is a safe bet as it’s one of their loved gifts. Otherwise, you can use them in the spool of a Sewing Machine to create dyeable Farmer Pants. They can also be used as a red dye in the Dye Pots at Emily and Haley’s house.

The biggest draw of Strawberries is the profit, though. Strawberries sell for between 120 Gold and 264 Gold, depending on the quality of the Strawberry and whether you’ve opted to have the Tiller profession.

Using Strawberries to create artisan goods can really boost this profit, with each product selling for the following prices:
